Katy Perry Is Doing (Food) Porn

by Kaitlin Reilly

What is it about Katy Perry and candy? This girl has a bigger sweet tooth than I do. (I'm currently eating a movie-theater-sized box of Goobers, so this is a big deal.) Just look at her "California Girls" music video — instead of setting it on a beach, Katy decided to set it in Candyland. Because when you're super famous and love sweets, that's what you can do. Weirdly, "California Girls" isn't the only song that proves that Katy is candy crazy. Her new lyric video for "Birthday" just arrived on Vevo and it features a variety of sweets, all done up with the lyrics of her new catchy tune. At least I think it's catchy — quite frankly I was too busy oohing and ahhing over the different birthday cakes that made appearances. Some have M&Ms! Sprinkles! Fondant! Cake is serious business, people.

And it's not just cake! Oh no. Katy would most certainly not have a video without including some of the other sweets that people should be eating on their birthday. Whether you're a candy store kid at heart and just want to snack on sour watermelons and candy legos or you're a Crumbs-aholic who wants nothing more than to eat Black Forest Cupcakes for the rest of your life, Katy has something in this lyric video for everyone. Everyone, that is, except for the healthy eaters of the world. Sorry, but there aren't any sprouts or kale in this video. You'll have to venture to Whole Foods for that.

Here's a collection of food porn, courtesy of the "Birthday" video. Watch it below!

Oh my God, macaroons. Pastel macaroons.

BRB, calling Crumbs and ordering an entire box of Good Guy cupcakes.

I like rainbow everything, but this might just take the cake. (Hehe.)

Is this cake for Kitty Purry's birthday?!

The double chocolate one looks heavenly.

Let's be honest: sometimes, the batter is just the best part. Yum.
