The Royal Baby Is Coming

UPDATE: The royal baby has been born!

EARLIER: At long last, the royal baby is coming! Kensington Palace officials confirmed Monday that Kate Middleton is currently in the hospital in the early stages of labor.

The Duchess of Cambridge is checked into St. Mary's Hospital in London, and is accompanied by her husband, Prince William. "Things are progressing as normal," the family's spokesperson said.

Middleton arrived at the hospital secretly at 1 am ET, and is expected to give birth in St. Mary's Lindo Wing, where William's mother, Princess Diana, gave birth to her two children.

Though media and royal baby fans know almost every detail of Middleton's delivery process, the gender of the couple's child is still unknown.
