Emma Watson, Leighton Meester, Mindy Kaling, and More Stun at the Tribeca Film Festival's First Weekend

Sundance may be full of bundled-up beauties celebrating their newest indie flicks and Cannes may be packed with A-list stars in glamorous gowns, but there’s another film festival that has its share of both film and style greatness: the Tribeca Film Festival. And fortunately for us all, the annual event has kicked off again, giving us a weekend filled with well-known faces walking the red carpet in everything from pretty frocks perfect for spring to all-black ensembles that really up the sleek-and-sexy ante. Want to see which stars ruled the festival’s opening weekend in their fabulous fashions?

Emma Watson

Fresh off her Noah press tour, the chic star traded out her stunning gowns for a more casual — but still style-packed — ensemble at the festival, pairing her two-piece, asymmetrical-cut Narciso Rodriguez outfit with side-swept locks, nude sandals, and a statement-making gold cuff.

Leighton Meester

The Of Mice and Men Broadway star has been winning us over in her brilliant blue looks, following up her navy Versace number with this drop-waist, metallic wrap skirt number from Emporio Armani. Keeping the look light for spring, Meester paired it with a silver clutch, nude lips, and double ankle-strap heels.

Nikki Reed

The actress needed little more than a curve-hugging LBD — with a midi length and open back, to boot — to look absolutely stunning and seriously sexy at the film festival.

Mindy Kaling

Kaling went the all-black route, too, looking very New York chic in her leather leggings, halter-neck wrap top, structured blazer — all from Helmut Lang — and Saint Laurent platform pumps.

Katie Holmes

The soon-to-be-TV-star hit the Tribeca Film Fest red carpet in a noticeably casual ensemble, pairing a plain white tee with dark denim, black booties, an embellished Miu Miu overcoat, and a major case of bed head.

America Ferrera

The Cesar Chavez star didn’t veer far from the polished sense of style she’s adopted of late, looking basic but beautiful in her navy and white halter dress from Roland Mouret, casual updo, bright clutch, and subtly matching sandals.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead

The brunette beauty was a vision on the red carpet in her color-soaked, collared Vionnet dress, which she paired with metallic cap-toe pumps, gold bangles, wavy locks, and flirty fringed bangs.

Gillian Jacobs

The Community star couldn’t have looked more ready for spring in her strapless frock, featuring brilliantly beaded embellishments, an asymmetrical hem, and a lightweight, draped skirt.
