Peaches Honored At Funeral With Unique Coffin

by Lia Beck

Two weeks after her sudden passing, Peaches Geldof's funeral was held on April 21, Easter Monday, at St. Mary Magdalene and St. Lawrence Church in Davington, England. This is the same church where Geldof was married to musician Thomas Cohen in 2012 and where her mother, Paula Yates' funeral was held in 2000. Yates and Geldof's father, Bob Geldof, were also married at the church in 1986. As previously reported, the funeral was private and only family and friends attended; although fans and mourners of Geldof lined the street heading up to the church to leave flowers and view the funeral procession.

In attendance were Geldof's father, Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones, and model Kate Moss among others.

Geldof, who died at the young age of 25, had two young sons, Astala Dylan Willow, who is nearly two years old, Phaedra Bloom Forever, 11 months. Geldof, Cohen, their sons, two dogs, and cat were painted onto the end Geldof's coffin. The light blue and white coffin was also painted with a peach tree branch and flowers.

The cause of Geldof's death is currently unknown but is being called "non-suspicious" by authorities. Autopsy reports were inconclusive and reports of a toxicology test are expected soon. In addition, an inquest — a common practice in Britain to investigate unresolved deaths — could begin.
