Kate Upton On The Cover Of 'Vogue' Is Summer Personified
If you aren't in the summer mood quite yet, one look at the latest cover of Vogue will quickly have you daydreaming about sandy beaches and a sun-kissed tan. After much speculation, Vogue UK has finally revealed that yes, their newest cover star for their upcoming June issue is model-turned-actress Kate Upton.
Dressed in an adorable floral Dolce and Gabbana swimsuit, the 21-year-old looks fresh-faced and comfortable sitting pretty on the sand. The cover, which was shot in the Caribbean, was photographed by world-famous Mario Testino.
Although Kate Upton is no stranger to magazine covers (or wearing bikinis on them for that matter), this one feels particularly iconic. Perhaps it's because her look recalls that of another blonde bombshell. In the interview with guest editor Alexa Chung, Upton talks about what it's like being compared to Marilyn Monroe, saying, "I always thought [she] was so beautiful and iconic, it was amazing to even be mentioned in the same sentence as her."
This is the second time Upton has graced the cover of British Vogue. The Florida native has been on the cover of American Vogue once, and was set to be the cover star for the April issue, until she was bumped by Kimye, according to E!.
