Kim K Loves Him, So Should You

by Cherise Luter

As we all wait with breath that is baited to find out if Kanye West and Kim Kardashian really did get married last week, let us all concentrate on the second biggest secret: Who designed the dress she will wear (or wore) down the aisle? The leader of the pack is Olivier Rousteing, twentysomething head of Parisian fashion house Balmain.

Named one of our top black fashion industry influencers, Rousteing has been making a name for himself on the runway and on social media through his BFF status with Kardashian, Rihanna, and Nicole Richie, to name a few. The design wünderkind was appointed Creative Director of Balmain in 2011 after 5 years under Roberto Cavalli and a subsequent tenure as assistant to then Balmain Creative Director Christophe Decarnin. He is one of the youngest creative directors in the industry and the youngest head of a couture house.

Selfie love between Rousteing and Kardashian has been flying for the last few months in the lead up to her wedding. The love bugs even posted a cozy moment at the aquarium during Kardashian's recent visit to Paris. I can't help but wonder if the white overstuffed couch was brought in just for the occasion.

Obviously, nothing is confirmed — KimYe also visited Lanvin and Givenchy during their Paris visit — but I think Rousteing might have in the bag. He is young, social media savvy, constantly surrounded by celebrities, has the cheek bones of a Greek god, and he, along with Alexander McQueen Creative Director Sarah Burton, is considered a new trend in the European luxury market.

New trend?! Social media?! High cheekbones?! You can’t tell me this guys isn’t perfect for Kim K.

Here are another 5 reasons Olivier Rousteing should get the gig of a lifetime based on his Instagram awesomeness alone.

He Eats Cereal Like a Boss

He makes mundane moments seem incredibly fashionable.

He Can Drop Some Knowledge

He is more than just a pretty face!

People Love Him

The city of London welcomes him to their humble hamlet.

He Can Laugh At Himself

He doesn't take himself to seriously, which isn't exactly a prevalent trait in the fashion industry.

He Designed These

Enough said.
