Justin Bieber & One Direction Fans are Ruthless — Just Look at the Terrifying Twitter Evidence

If we know anything about Twitter it's that you don't mess with the Beliebers or with the Directioners (aka the fandoms for Justin Bieber and One Direction). I once wrote an article about Harry Styles and I got actual death threats from One Direction fans. And my article wasn't even negative, so when I saw this morning that the two groups were battling it out on Twitter to win the World Music Awards best fanbase I was very afraid for all involved. No other fans take things quite as far as these ones do. I mean, Justin Bieber basically has a cult on Twitter and both fandoms have been known to attack celebrities like Selena Gomez or Taylor Swift who dare to date their favorite members. So I had to wonder how the two groups were handling the fight. Hint: not well. Things have devolved very quickly. I've separated the top types of posts into six rounds and judged not just the volume of tweets, but creativity of those tweets. Take a look for yourselves to see which fandom deserves to win:

ROUND ONE: OBJECTIFICATION

To encourage others to vote, many fans have taken to reminding everyone what it is they like about 1D or J. Biebs.

Winner: The Beliebers because they like ALL of Justin's body, not just his legs.

ROUND TWO: SHAME

Another way to get people to vote is to shame them.

Winner: The Directioners because shaming people runs deep, deep in their veins. Dreampaynee is a cold-hearted fan throwing that Ghana picture in there. It's like she's saying, "If you don't vote for 1D you hate Ghana's children." Harsh.

ROUND THREE: THREATS

Ah, the old Twitter threat technique. Both fandoms are well versed in this one, let's see how this plays out:

Winner: The Beliebers because they got creative with their threats instead of just telling everyone to die.

ROUND FOUR: CAPITALIZED SONG LYRICS

"I WILL NOW SHOW MY LOVE BY SHOUTING YOUR MUSIC AT PEOPLE ON TWITTER"

Winner: It's a tie because both sides are pretty evenly tweeting this sort of stuff.

ROUND FIVE: RELIGION

This contest is very important to these fans and they want you to know that their favorite singers are angels. Perhaps they're hoping God will see these tweets and will step in to help them win.

Winner: Directioners because the Zayn angel tweet shows him hanging out with those dang Ghana kids again and I just can't say no to that.

ROUND SIX: CHAOS

When all else fails, these fandoms resort to crazy techniques to get noticed. Here are a few of the strangest.

Winner: The Directioners because for some reason they are screaming "Fetus" on Twitter as a way to vote for their band?

OVERALL VICTOR

No one. No one wins when threatening borderline-insane fandoms take over Twitter.

But if you're curious about the actual winner, 1D is leading right now with 33 percent of the vote while Justin Bieber is in 4th place with 11 percent. Better step it up Beliebers!
