Lady Gaga Cancels Concerts Due to Sickness & She Handles Delivering the News Flawlessly

These days it seems like musicians keep canceling concerts due to illnesses. First is was Miley Cyrus, then Paul McCartney, and now Lady Gaga is canceling shows in Seattle and Vancouver because she's sick. The singer announced on Wednesday that she has a bad case of bronchitis which is temporarily keeping her from performing. Fortunately Gaga is a seasoned professional and knew exactly how to break the news to her little monsters. For any musicians looking to cancel in the near future, here's a 4-step process to ensure everything goes well. Just don't cancel on Australia, because they've had about all the letdowns they can handle.

STEP ONE: KEEP IT LIGHT

First Gaga hit fans with a dose of light-hearted humor. After all, she's not dying, she's just sick. "I'm devastated I'm unable to perform this week. Ursula took my mermaid voice," she tweeted Wednesday. She accompanied the post with a funny photo of the nefarious Disney villain.

STEP TWO: BUT BALANCE THE LIGHT WITH THE DARK

But not wanting her fans to think she thought the situation was a joke, she added just the right amount of sadness in a follow-up tweet that she hashtagged "#sadgaga."

STEP THREE: APOLOGIZE AND REMEDY

Then Gaga made sure her fans immediately knew that she was sorry and she plans to make things right. "My deepest apologies to Seattle and Vancouver," she tweeted. "We'll reschedule those shows & be back to make it up to you."

STEP FOUR: EMOTICONS NEVER HURT

Finally, she added a little "I <3 monsters" for good measure.

All in all, she showed exactly how one should handle the messy business that is a show cancelation. Now Lady Gaga just has to hope her fans take the news better than Miley Cyrus' fans did.
