Lindsay Lohan Books a Job?!

by Kate Ward

For the first time since Mean Girls made Lindsay Lohan a star in 2004, things are looking up for the troubled actress. The singer, who was only briefly known for her comedic skills with hits like Freaky Friday and the aforementioned Tina Fey-penned flick, has been tapped to guest-host an episode of Chelsea Handler's nighttime talk show, Chelsea Lately. The episode will air Aug. 5, and will show Lohan — for the first time ever — on the other side of an interview. (We'll hear enough from Lohan herself anyway when her interview and reality show airs on Oprah Winfrey's OWN.)

The news indicates a good turn for Lohan, who has fielded good press for the first time since her 2007 DUI arrest that jumpstarted the actress' legal issues. Not only is she garnering solid reviews for her performance in The Canyons — which was the subject of a New York Times Magazine story that painted Lohan as a genius trainwreck — but she also appears to be making strides in rehab. According to reports, the actress has been encouraged to create a "toxic list" of friends to cut from her life.

With this progress, and Amanda Bynes stealing the meltdown spotlight, could Chelsea Lately's comedians laugh about someone other than Lohan for once?
