Your First Look At Tom Hiddleston's New Role

by Martha Sorren

It's almost like Tom Hiddleston knew that when news broke he'd be playing country music singer Hank Williams, we'd want to see exactly how that would look. So Tom Hiddleston tweeted a picture in his I Saw the Light getup, and now we no longer have to imagine what the Brit would look like in a 10-gallon hat. This character is a big departure for fans who best know Hiddleston from his days playing Loki in the Thor and Avengers films; in fact, the actor has been very fond of that black wig for awhile now. He recently donned dark tresses in three Marvel films and again as rocker/vampire Adam in Only Lovers Left Alive .

But this time, it seems like we'll get a more natural-haired Tom, who will also sing and play guitar, both of which are talents he possessed before the movie. Is there anything this guy can't do? Even switching from his native British accent to the Alabama drawl isn't a problem for the actor. He's well known for being able to impersonate just about anyone, from Yoda to fellow actor Owen Wilson and he's already played an American once before as F. Scott Fitzgerald in Midnight in Paris; he should be able to transition easily again.

While I'm sure we all can't wait to get footage of his Southern accent and singing skills, for now, we'll have to settle for this first look of Hiddleston as Hank Williams: cowboy boots, guitar, and all.
