Channing's Latest Movie Sounds AMAZING

by Alanna Bennett

This movie. This movie, you guys. Let me paint you a picture: Joel and Ethan Coen. Channing Tatum as a Gene Kelly type. Tilda Swinton as a vintage Hedda Hooper type. George Clooney as the Hollywood establishment. Is your palette whet?

The movie in question is Hail, Caesar ! , and The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Tatum is in negotiations to join the project. Swinton and Ralph Fiennes are also in talks, and if everything goes as planned the two of them and Tatum will be joining George Clooney and Josh Brolin, who've already signed on.

Set in the 1950s in what's commonly known as the Golden Age of Hollywood, Hail, Caesar! follows Eddie Manix, a "fixer" (think Olivia Pope) for Tinseltown. Fiennes will reportedly be playing a director named Laurence Lorenze, which Vanity Fair's Katey Rich points out "sure sounds like a stand-in for MGM fixture Vincente Minnelli."

Watching the Coen brothers take on classic Hollywood should be a treat (at the very least it'll be a trip), and the film's a comedy, which sounds promising. Seeing Tatum take on a Gene Kelly-type role also sounds like it could be a good time, especially with people like Clooney and Swinton loitering around.

Can you hear the Golden Globes clamoring for homes yet?

I have to say, though: I'mma let you finish, Tatum, but can you do this?:
