Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld's Cat, is The Face of New Shu Uemura Campaign, Proving Kitty World Domination Is Imminent
Summer 2014 is shaping up to be one very feline-centric summer, and as further proof of the trend, Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette will be both the inspiration for and face of Lagerfeld's new Shu Uemura line. Entitled Shupette by Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura, the cosmetics collaboration is bringing the term "cat eye" to an entirely different level, and according to Women's Wear Daily, promises items including a product referred to as "furry lashes" and a number of other pet-related items. As if the cat-inspired products weren't enough, Lagerfeld has also personally photographed the feline for Uemura's campaign, and plans to include Choupette quotes with each product Anyone who closely follows the fashion industry knows of Lagerfeld's obsession with Choupette, but this latest endeavor does seem to beg the question: Karl does know Choupette is a cat, right?
Lagerfeld's sanity aside, the collection at the very least promises to be utterly original. And as the collection will be released in store around the holidays, the products may be the perfect gift for that feline-obsessed fashionista on your list. But for now, it's important to take a moment to appreciate the maniacal, bizarre genius that is Karl Lagerfeld, and his undoubtedly spoiled, loyal companion Choupette.
