Check Out Her Sweet Rainbow Ponytail

by Erin Mayer

Crazy colored hair is not just for angst-ridden teens anymore. Celebrities have been rocking hair in every shade from slime green (Hi, Katy Perry!) to light purple and every combination in between and I have to say — I'm loving it. Awhile back, hair chameleon Rita Ora unveiled a "My Little Pony" inspired 'do that had me dying to break out the Manic Panic.

The singer has had purple hair for a bit, but she sported a chic variation to an event earlier this month that provided a refreshing twist on the overdone colored tips trend. Ora pulled her dip-dyed blonde, teal, and purple locks into a sleek low ponytail that was gelled down around her temples for a Berlin Fashion Week event, pairing the look with a conservative jet-black ensemble. She kept her makeup simple as well with a nude lip and subtle eyes, allowing the shock of color in her hair to take center stage.

Rita Ora's latest hair statement is more '80s cartoon than early '00s scene kid, which is part of why I love it so much, especially juxtaposed with her toned-down ensemble and edgy accessories (hellooo sheer gloves that are straight from Madonna's costume closet). She proves that fun hair colors don't have to be totally high school, but can actually look rather grown up. Hey, don't take my word for it! Here are some pictures, courtesy of Instagram:
