Her Style is Out-of-This-World Good

I have the utmost respect for women who like to be experimental with their fashion (a sentiment that probably comes from my habit of sticking to a heavily classic-leaning style, even on the occasions when I’d love to do otherwise). Take Coco Rocha, for example, with her supermodel (and perhaps superhuman) ability to pull off out-there pieces with ease, or just look at Rihanna, who can wear risqué numbers like a sheer, rhinestoned dress at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards the way the average lady would wear a T-shirt and jeans.

Though she tends to stick with feminine, flirty, sleek, and chic numbers on the red carpet, I think it’s safe to say that actress Zoe Saldana occasionally likes to push the envelope with her fashion, too, whether it’s with the most unbelievable candy cane–striped Armani Privé dress at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival or an embellished Prabal Gurung work of art at the 2014 Golden Globes.

And at Monday evening’s Guardians of the Galaxy premiere in Hollywood, California, the stunning star pulled off a bit of her trademark edgy-chic style once again, going for a fiercely futuristic vibe in a sheer-bodice, metallic-skirt Louis Vuitton number on the red carpet.

Giving us a peek at her basic white bralette underneath, Saldana’s long-sleeved, abstract-printed ensemble got an extra kick of style thanks to its embellished skirt, leather trim, and zig-zag hemline. Paring the look with strappy, feathered Jimmy Choo heels and a classic red lip, Saldana perfectly balanced a sense of envelope-pushing style with a classically beautiful look.

Speaking of classic, how stunning is that wavy faux-bob the newly married actress is donning? Matched with simple drop earrings, it's a soft, feminine look that balances out the fierceness of the rest of her ensemble in a way that only a fashion pro could pull off.

And though this outfit certainly doesn't put to rest (or confirm) any rumors flying around that Saldana is expecting a baby with husband Marco Perego, it simply offers further proof that any future baby bump will undoubtedly be impeccably well dressed.
