More Like The Teen 'TFIOS' Awards

by Keertana Sastry

No surprise here. At Sunday night's 2014 Teen Choice Awards, YA-novel turned film The Fault In Our Stars won pretty much every single award they could win and it's no secret why. The film was a huge success with critics and audiences alike, spawning memes and love for stars Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort in the hearts of many of teen, tween and adult everywhere.

Elgort, aka Augustus Waters, took home the awards for Choice Movie Actor: Drama as well as Choice Movie Breakout Star which he shared with his other film of 2014 Divergent. The adorable star also took home Choice Movie Liplock with Woodley and shared the Choice Chemistry award with Woodley and supporting actor Natt Wolff. Woodley took home Choice Movie Actress: Drama and even Wolff grabbed his own surfboard for Choice Scene Stealer.

Without getting too mushy, I have to wholeheartedly agree with the Teen Choice Awards for these wins. The Fault In Our Stars was not only a beautiful and heartbreaking film with some brilliant performances but it did its novel justice. It might be weird to see Woodley and Elgort playing lovers as well as siblings in back-to-back movies, but their chemistry in TFIOS was top-notch. And if there is any way to keep Nat Wolff on my movie screen at all times, I would like to make that happen. While most of the Teen Choice Awards feel so immature at times, it's nice to see them make the right decision when a great movie for all ages comes along.
