Miley Cyrus' Pig & 7 Other Unusual Celebrity Pets (Looking at You, Leonardo DiCaprio's Tortoise)

If you don't know by now, Miley Cyrus loves the pigs. The way she protectively cradles her new pet pig Bubba Sue makes it obvious that this union is a match made in hog heaven. Now that her pet pig count has increased, we can probably look forward to another round of those bed selfies she snapped with her dogs.

As spunky as Cyrus is, unconventional pets seems to suit her particularly well. Here are seven other celebrities who strayed far from the norm and purchased unusual pets, too. Maybe they'll all start a petting zoo one day?

Justin Bieber's Monkey

Justin Bieber often makes headlines for monkeying around, and his short-lived ownership of a capuchin monkey named Mally also involved its fair share of shenanigans. German officials seized Biebs’ pet and sent it to a zoo after discovering the pop star didn’t have the proper paperwork.

Too bad Bieber wasn’t able to keep Mally. They look too adorable and cuddly together.

Reese Witherspoon's Miniature Donkeys

Who could be mad at two miniature donkeys named Honky and Tonky? They sound like the most adorable pets ever, but reportedly Witherspoon’s neighbors found nothing cute about the animals’ loud braying.

Honky was definitely ready for his close-up. Tonky? Not so much.

Nicolas Cage's Octopus

Tentacled creatures that squirt ink tend to make my skin crawl, but an octopus apparently swam its way into Nicolas Cage’s heart.

Cage's Octopus

But it wasn’t just the love of the octopus that prompted Cage to purchase it—he thought it would help him nab more acting jobs. Seems like Cage took the animal’s ability to easily grab ahold of stuff way too literal.

Leonardo DiCaprio's Tortoise

For someone who lives such a fast-paced lifestyle, you’d think Leo DiCaprio would own a pet that could keep up with him instead of his laid-back, slow-moving pet tortoise.

This isn’t an actual photo of DiCaprio’s tortoise, but it offers a glimpse of what it must be like to care for a 200-pound creature that can live up to 80 years old.

Vanilla Ice's Kangaroo

If the thought of Ice owning a pet kangaroo named Bucky Buckaroo sounds puzzling, try wrapping your mind around the rapper’s claims that the kangaroo mates with his pet pot-bellied pig.

Bucky looks way too demure to be involved with a pig, but whatever you say Ice.

Tori Spelling's Goats

The shocking part about Spelling owning a goat named Totes McGoat isn’t that she walks it on a leash, but that it doesn’t chew its way out of it.

Awww

Here’s hoping Tori’s Totes McGoat is as cute as this guy.

Kirstie Alley's Lemurs

Alley loves her pet lemurs so much that she put them in her will. Seriously.

Alley captioned this photo “Crazy eyes, beautiful heart:)”, which explains why she’s had them for more than 30 years and spends thousands of dollars a year to ensure they’re well-cared for.
