Daughter Zelda Williams Posts Heartwarming Tribute

by Kadeen Griffiths

The world is still reeling from this incredibly powerful loss. On Monday, Robin Williams was announced dead at 63 after being found unconscious in his California home from what is currently suspected to be a suicide by asphyxiation. Since then, many celebrities and fans have come forward to send their condolences to the family and send their tributes to the comedian and actor whose talent and humor made up a bulk of a great many childhoods across the globe. One such tribute, and certainly the most touching of all, came from Williams' 25-year-old daughter, Zelda Williams. Using Twitter, Zelda posted an emotional message to Robin that will literally crush your heart and put it back together.

"You — You alone will have the stars as no one else has them," the quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince begins. "In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing." At the end of the quote, Zelda included some words of her own: "I love you. I miss you. I'll try to keep looking up."

This is made all the more tragic by the fact that Williams' final Instagram post was a tribute to his daughter, in celebration of her 25th birthday. "Quarter of a century old today but always my baby girl," the post read along with a black-and-white photograph of a young Zelda in Robin's arms. Zelda Rae is his second child and only daughter, between sons Zachary Pym and Cody Alan.

Zelda and Williams had always enjoyed a close relationship with one another, as evidenced by the two Ocarina of Time 3D commercials they did together in 2011. That he continues to be an inspiration to her even in death is a testament of the strong bond between father and daughter and the lasting effect that Williams' legacy has had on us all. Hopefully, through Zelda's message, we can all find a way to keep looking up even during this difficult time.
