Her Response to Critics Contains a Good Message

Adjusting to life as a new mother is probably already challenging enough for former Jersey Shore reality star J.Woww, and having to defend her physical appearance to the public surely doesn't make it any easier. According to Hollywood Gossip, J.Woww posted a makeup-free selfie in response to criticisms from those who believe she's undergone plastic surgery. She captioned the photo, "Very flattered radar online that u think I had all that work done but I'm just a plain jane mom with wrinkles without makeup."

Now regardless of what side of the J.Woww cosmetic surgery fence you land on, what can't be denied is the fact that in responding to the critics in such a manner, J. Woww is already serving as an example to her newborn daughter Meilani on how to stand up for herself. Her response paints her as a more down-to-Earth individual, showing a less superficial, more mature side that drastically differs from her vapid, club-hopping, GTL days on Jersey Shore. While she already appears to balance motherhood well with hitting back at her critics, J. Woww's no newbie when it comes to playing defense. In fact, she's had plenty of practice calling out those who constantly make fun of her appearance. In May, she had a few choice words for TMZ after they posted a joke article in which a pregnant J. Woww was referred to as Lil' Kim, who's been subjected to constant ridicule for having had cosmetic surgery.It must suck for J. Woww to feel like she has to take even a second away from her daughter to deal with these type of attacks, but unfortunately, that's what comes with a life lived in the spotlight. Whether or not she intends to use this particular situation as a future lesson for Meilani, J. Woww's showing her daughter how to embrace herself and her personal choices, regardless of what anyone else may think.
