The Metallic Beauty Products You Need This Fall

Between the #nomakeup look at Marc Jacobs and contrasting white and black look at Thom Browne, the makeup at New York Fashion Week fell into two distinct aesthetics. Artists either went the route of simple, subtle, and sweet; or big, bright, and bold. But there was one trend that fell somewhere in-between: metallic makeup. That's right, the '90s really are coming back full-force. First the brown lippies tested the waters to make sure they'd be welcomed back, and now frosted lippies circa late '90s/early 2000s are also on their way to make a resurgence. Hey, even Rihanna's second collaboration with MAC features all-frosted lip products.

But as someone who was never really that into the whole frosted-lip thing in the first place, what I loved the most about the runways that participated in metallics (like Rodarte), is that they weren't just for the lips — models also worked frosted lids and finger tips. Shiny eyeshadow and nail polish? Now that's something I can totally get behind.

But I realize this trend might not be for everybody; metallics can definitely draw attention. So if you want to split this style like the NYFW runways, here are some options to keep your metals simple, subtle, and sweet; or, if you're feeling daring, big, bright, and bold.
