A 'Duck Dynasty' Teenager Just Got Engaged

Things escalated quite a lot Saturday at the birthday party of one Duck Dynasty family member. John Luke Robertson proposed to his girlfriend Mary Kate McEacharn and she accepted. They seem pretty excited about it.

Robertson, 19, is the grandson of Duck Dynasty patriarch and marriage equality opposer Phil Robertson, and the eldest son of Willie Robertson and Korie Robertson. His parents got married when they were 19 and 18, respectively, and their son talked in a statement to E! about how they served as his inspiration:

I am so excited to marry my best friend. I know my parents married young as well, and they have always been examples of what 'could be' to me. Fast-forward 22 years and they are more in love than ever, and I hope Mary Kate and I are the same way in the years to come. God has truly blessed us.

The family's been celebrating the engagement on social media since the proposal, with Korie writing that "Yes, it's true @John316Luke923 proposed to this beauty @MaryKateMcE last night!" she said. "We couldn't be more excited!! #love." Rebecca Robertson, John Luke's sister, wrote that she's " so excited to be [Mary Kate]'s sister."

The couple have been dating since March of this year.
