You Have To See These Celebrity Halloween Costumes

Double, double, toil, and trouble. Halloween came early in Hollywood this year, and the celebrities used the weekend before October 31st to test out their costumes at various parties around town, including the Casamigos Tequila party and newlywed Matthew Morrison's star-studded bash. Given the sheer absurdity of American Apparel's bizarre Halloween costume shop, and the creation of emoji face masks, I'll admit, I was a tad bit worried about what we'd see pop up on our favorite celebrities this Halloween, but if this weekend was any indication, there were no worries to be had. From spooky, to sexy, and even some stereotypical favorites — celebrities still know a thing or two about how to rock an epic costume.

I'm sure there will still be plenty of surprises in store before this Friday's Halloween night, after all, the cardinal rule in Halloween is never to wear the same thing twice, but there were definitely some early stand outs for me, and if you're in need of some last-minute costume inspiration, look no further. Here are a few of the celebrities who did Halloween costuming right and had my favorite looks from the weekend's anticipatory Halloween festivities.

1. and 2. Kate Hudson and Ashley Benson

Was anyone else as surprised by this friendship as I was? Never-the-less, the blonde actresses killed it in their Day of the Dead Sugar Skull costumes. Bonus: Erin Foster AKA Harry Styles' latest love interest is also in this photograph.

3. Chord Overstreet

Okay, so a cop is pretty boring and basic, but, I mean, damn. P.S. Derek Hough, like, what are you doing?

4. Lucy Hale

The Pretty Little Liar's star dressed as a Twitter bird, making her costume both creative and pop-culture relevant. Bonus points for being adorable.

5. Colton Haynes

I'll be honest, I don't actually know who he is (Google says he's one of those teen stars), but I kind of want to after possibly the best Halloween costume this year.

6. Cindy Crawford

The perfect Cher to her husband's Sonny.

7. Michelle Trachtenberg

The Gossip Girl actress was not afraid to get bloody for her Black Dahlia costume.

8. Hilary Duff

Duff stunned as a fairy, and probably had my favorite costume of the weekend. I mean, can someone please teach me how to do make-up like that ASAP?
