Jennifer Lawrence & Chris Martin Could Be the Next Jelena If They Aren't Careful

Well, it sounds like Martin Lawrence may be back on, even though we cannot say for sure they were even off, or definitely even dating in the first place. By being so elusive and avoiding any photos together that would prove their coupling, it seems like Chris Martin and Jennifer Lawrence are taking a very thought out approach to celeb dating. That said, judging by the report that they're back together, they could be becoming part of a classic celeb trend: the on-off couple.

There is a long history of celebrity couples' "are they or aren't they" relationships overshadowing their actual work, so let's hope that these kids don't follow in the footsteps of some other infamous couples who took the "it's complicated" relationship status and ran with it.

Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber

Between all of the mysterious, faceless Instagram photos and elusive quotes, “Jelena” is certainly one of the most dramatic young Hollywood couples right now. Since their meeting in 2011, this torrid love affair has spanned Segway rides, countless bad breakups, Taylor Swift’s infamous disapproval, a really embarrassing deposition and more. As of right now, Gomez and Bieber seem to finally be done with each other, but who knows how long that will last…

Samantha Ronson & Lindsay Lohan

Oh man, do you remember the days when Lindsay Lohan had just begun her saddening downward spiral? Many people attribute this to her "toxic" relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson (but I think this was probably a two way street). There was even a restraining order involved eventually.

Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola & Ronnie Ortiz-Magro

Of course these Jersey Shore alums couldn’t avoid being in the public eye since they were on one of MTV’s most popular reality shows, but since they got together in the shore house, their love was nothing but, well, confusing to say the least. For five years, they would break up and make up, and treated viewers to some really epic fights on TV. They were a train wreck we couldn’t keep our eyes off of. As of August of this year, our beloved Jersey couple are no longer together but still wish each other “the best.” Sad face.

Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have been together for seven years and have two children together with another on the way, and yet, one can never truly be sure of their couple status. Based on what I see on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, I’m kind of appalled that she is still with him, based on all the really ridiculous decisions he keeps on making. On the most recent episode of the spin-off Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons, Kardashian gave Disick another ultimatum after he spent the night partying in Manhattan. Let’s hope they change this pattern for the sake of their three children.

Rihanna & Drake (& Chris Brown)

Nothing like a good, juicy love triangle. After Chris Brown physically assaulted Rihanna in early 2009, she got back with him for reasons that only her heart could know. As for Drake, he and Rihanna were first rumored to be dating later that same year. Throughout the time since, Drake and Rihanna have shown up at some spots together, left some spots together, and danced together, but we’ve never known their true status. Recently, Brown told a radio station that he felt that Rihanna dated Drake out of spite, but if we know anything about Rihanna that’s probably nowhere near true, and Chris Brown needs to stop talking about her and focus on his own current on/off relationship with Karreuche Tran.
