How To Steal Olivia Munn's Party-Perfect Style

by Rosie Narasaki

Yes, it's barely November, but by now we should all be resigned to the fact that it's basically Christmas. As such, we need to start planning accordingly — and lucky for us, Olivia Munn has totally got us covered. Tuesday night marked the premiere for the final (nooo!) season of The Newsroom , and Olivia Munn came dressed to the nines in her best Yuletide apparel.

A tad puzzling, but hey — I'm certainly not complaining! Olivia can wear her Christmas frippery year-round if she wants, especially if she keeps on doing it with this much aplomb. Her outfit hits all the right notes — the silver and gold beading in the dress are picked up so nicely by her accessories (and nail polish), but she kept things from sliding too angelic porcelain doll-esque by mixing it up with a slightly undone, textured ponytail and some super rad neon lipstick.

I think Munn's discovered the secret to Christmas, everyone: You can keep it as classic/on the nose as you want with the wardrobe, as long as you add in a touch of unexpected flair with the styling. Here, she's serving up full "White Christmas" with a side of Candy Yum Yum — and it's kind of perfect: So let's steal her look!

The Dress

Go for something retro — lacy with a full skirt's optimal (and gorgeous metallic beading is even more optimal, if you can find it).

The Shoes

As for shoes, you're going to want to go for something point-toed and metallic. Olivia's have more of a satin finish, but I love these ultra-shiny pumps!

The Clutch

Clutches are a lot of fun — especially when they're metallic and retro-ly boxy.

The Nails

Come on, gold nail polish is a holiday must.

The Lipstick

You're going to want something seriously high-impact to help balance out all of the twee, and the NARS Audacious line is a good place to start. That said, if you're looking for something at a lower price point, MAC Candy Yum Yum or Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipcolor in Hot Plum are also great slightly-purplish fuchsias.
