For as long as I can remember, I've been conditioned to live by the age-old beauty rule that you should always opt for lighter hues in spring and summer and darker, richer colors for fall and winter. And I know I'm not alone in this thinking. It makes sense, so I've never gone against it, even when I've had the urge to do the opposite. But fashion-forward gals like Jessica Alba are here to prove that you shouldn't have to abide by those old-school beauty conventions if you don't want to. Case in point: her latest hair makeover. According to Instagram, Jessica Alba underwent a blonde transformation, in the middle of November no less.
Alba captured the gorgeous makeover via Flipagram, documenting the multi-step process. Although it looked like an intense, day-long procedure, Alba was in expert ombre-making hands. She went to celebrity hair stylist and colorist Anh Co Tran and Johnny Ramirez of Ramirez|Tran Salon in Beverly Hills. If you visit either of their Instagram accounts (click here and here), you'll see that they have done hundreds upon hundreds of insanely impressive hair makeovers, from ombres and platinum blondes to lobs and pixie cuts. It's no wonder Alba decided to go to them.
Alba's new fall and winter look isn't a total blonde transformation. She left some of her darker colored roots to achieve a dirty blonde ombre, which is unlike anything she's had before. Although I'm partial to Alba's natural brunette hair, this blonde 'do is different from others she's had before. It's softer, subtler and more on the ashier blonde side versus the warmer, honey blonde hues we've seen on her prior (a la her Sin City hairdo).
