Shirtless Ashley Parker Angel? If You Insist...

by Kristie Rohwedder

Welp, you're going to want to stop whatever you’re doing, sit down, take a deep breath, and prepare your soul. Because there are brand new, very important, quasi NSFW photographs of Ashley Parker Angel out in the universe. (Spoiler alert: In one of the pics, you can totally see the upper portion of his butt.) Thanks to E! Online, I now know the member of early aughts boy band O-Town recently posed sans shirt for Out magazine. And yes, I scrolled through all of them. (For research, of course.)

A few minutes after I looked at the pics, I suddenly started to hum O-Town’s 2001 hit “Liquid Dreams”. Before I knew it, I was singing the not-so-subtle lyrics out loud. I got through an entire verse and the chorus before I stopped singing. Is "She's a morpharotic dream from a magazine" a real lyric? I wondered. Did I get that right?

I headed over to a popup-riddled lyric database and found that what I sang was approximately 85% accurate, which I'd say is a commendable score.

I can't believe I remembered the lyrics to "Liquid Dreams".

This may not seem like a big deal, but it is to me. Not only can I not recall the last time I listened to "Liquid Dreams", but I know I have a terrible memory for lyrics. Like, I've heard Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" at least 600 times over the course of the last few months, and I can only remember two lines out of the entire song. How I managed to rattle off several lines from of 2001's "Liquid Dreams" on the spot is beyond me.

I'm not going to give my memory any credit on this one. Instead, I'm going to go ahead and assume looking at Ashley Parker Angel's shirtless photos caused me to remember the song (almost) word-for-word. Like the photos wield some sort of lyric recollection power. That's probably the most logical explanation.

You're welcome:
