Christmas Nail Art To Try This Holiday Season

by Miki Hayes

Now I love a good holiday-themed manicure, and Christmas is no exception. There's just something about Christmas nail art that keep spirits up, and mini Santas and snow-covered trees really help make it the best time of the year. And for a holiday that encourages decorating, why stop at decking the halls when you can do your nails as well? Here's an idea for the Christmas tree obsessed: paint a little tree on each of your nails and decorate those as well! But of course, you might be more of a minimalist. If you like to keep it simple during the holidays, just stick to a color theme. Obviously red, green, and white are all totally appropriate, but you can spice up any Christmas manicure with a little glitter.

If you're all about that crazy nail art, here are some of the best from Instagram. These ladies sure know how to get in the holiday cheer, and regardless of your manicure-expertise, there's plenty of inspiration for the perfect Christmas manicure. Now polish, now glitter, now dotter, and striper! On pine tree, on tinsel, and festive gift-wrapper! (I hope that wasn't too lame.) But whatever your preference, whether it be candy canes or Jack Skellington, these 'grams will help you get started.

Easy

For a mani that's easier than it looks, take a dotting tool and form a triangle with green polishes. Then just go back over it with red and gold dots for Christmas tree nail art.

Add a cute nail decal and some matching glitter for a sparkly mani.

Glittery, candy cane nails are perfect for the holiday season. Just use striping tape to achieve this look.

For an Inception-style manicure, try wrapping paper nail wraps.

Medium

Accent your mani with some mistletoe for a sweet touch.

Or some ornaments if the ones on your tree just aren't enough.

Add a string of lights to brighten up your Christmas mani.

Difficult

Mix and match your holiday prints for really festive nails.

Or keep your detail to a minimum by painting an accent nail with your favorite Christmas character.

But if one character isn't enough, get the whole gang together. And if you're crunched for space, stack your portraits on both sets of nails.

Make your mani equally classic and whimsical with holiday staples like red and green glitter and holiday favorites like Rudolf and Olaf.
