My Feelings on NYE in Queen & Adam Lambert Lyrics
It may be a month away, but the pressure to celebrate New Year's Eve in big, bad fashion has already begun. If you live in London, then you are in luck. Adam Lambert and Queen will be performing in an intimate 2000-seat concert venue to ring in 2015. Back in 2012, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen toured with Lambert and they have since played all over the world together. Queen have been together since 1970 and Taylor commented on their long tenure, "I never imagined we would be around to usher in the year of 2015, what a thrill! We promise you a great night." Though Queen tragically lost lead singer Freddie Mercury in 1991, the band still performs their favorite original hits. With Lambert taking over the microphone, fans can expect loads of energy and plenty of attitude. According to the American Idol star, “Words can’t describe how excited I am[.]"
The announcement of the New Year's Eve bash is coming right off of last week's performance by Queen and Lambert of "Somebody to Love" on X Factor UK. I would rather be in London and ring in 2015 with Queen and Adam Lambert's Rock Big Ben Live event than pretty much anything else. Year after year I say to myself, "I'm just going to stay in with a few friends, watch movies, eat cheese and drink some champagne." And year after year I end up in an over-crowded bar paying too much for a night that usually ends in disappointment. Admittedly, I'm a total Scrooge when it comes to New Year's Eve. It's overrated, expensive, and especially awful when you're single. At least Queen and Adam Lambert get it — their lyrics perfectly express my loathsome feelings towards the "biggest party of the year." Check it out:
"CAN ANYBODY FIND ME SOMEBODY TO LOOOOOOVE?"
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
"Temporarily out of gas"
And by temporarily, I mean completely for the entire evening.
"All I ever do is overthink and drink"
New Years in a nutshell... and it never ends well.
"I'm happy at home (happy at home)... You're my best friend."
Whoever will stay home with me on NYE instead of going out is automatically my best friend.
"I was born with glitter on my face."
At least that's how I feel when I wake up on January 1.
"Body's aching all the time... Goodbye, everybody, I've got to go."
For real guys, my feet hurt and I'm tired. WHY DID I AGREE TO GO TO A BAR AGAIN?
"How did the night ever get like this?"
Oh right, champagne.
"Pressure pushing down on me, pressing down on you."
THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST PARTY OF THE YEAR AND YOU HAVE TO GET LAID. THIS IS OUR LAST DANCE. THIS IS OURSELVES... UNDER PRESSURE.
