James Franco's Secret to Multitasking Revealed

by Tanya Ghahremani

If you've ever wondered just how James Franco is able to commit to being an actor, a director, a writer, a poet, a producer, a documentary filmmaker, a student, a guest professor, an artist, a singer, and a soap opera star — amongst other things, I'm sure — all at once, good news: It looks like the new promos for the Saturday Night Live episode that James Franco is hosting this week have gone ahead and revealed his big secret. I don't know about you, but I've always been interested in how Franco manages to do all that (famously, he once boasted that he was able to take 60 credits during one quarter semester at UCLA) while still having time to be a normal human being and, you know, sleep — so I found this extremely interesting.

So, what's his secret? In the promo, Franco is able to zoom in and out of frame, once to attend a class at Yale (another school he's been a student at) and another time to direct a film, all seemingly within seconds — which leads me to believe that he is either a time traveler, or somehow has possession of Hermione Granger's Time-Turner from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Either way, I think we should all consider this proof that Franco is not human, and that's how he's able to multitask so freakin' well. Mystery solved, guys!

Though the rest of the promos reveal no more about his multitasking abilities, they do manage to get pretty experimental and artsy, at one point depicting Franco conjuring up a whole sandwich with there mere power of his mind. Which, I guess, is fitting, considering he's put out a lot of weird passion projects.

You can check out the full set of promos below. As always, SNL will air on NBC this Saturday at 11:30 PM.
