Lily & Caleb Have a Coachella Love Story

by Nicole Pomarico

I'm most likely not alone in thinking that Lily Aldridge is one of the most adorable people on the planet — and that she has one of the best jobs ever. I'm hoping someday I get to go to the ultra-exclusive Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, let alone actually walk in it. I adore everything about Aldridge, from her street style to any and all of her Instagram posts. Something else that's easy to love about her is her relationship with her husband, Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill. And since they've been together for awhile now, it's hard to remember when they weren't. How did Lily Aldridge and Caleb Followill meet in the first place?

In a word: Coachella. According to Aldridge herself, they were both attending the famous music festival in 2007 where Kings of Leon were performing. And the way she tells it, it definitely sounds like it was love at first sight. "He was performing and as soon as I saw him, I couldn't stop thinking about him," Aldridge told Tatler last year of their first meeting. A mutual friend ended up introducing them, and the rest is history — even though, as Aldridge told Net-A-Porter, she didn't want to give her feelings away at first:

I knew he liked me, so I played it cool. I never exchanged numbers as I just knew we were going to see each other again ... We're so compatible; he's the coolest guy I've ever met, and my best friend.

They dated — Aldridge even appearing in Kings of Leon's music video for "Use Somebody" — and three years after they met, they were engaged. Followill popped the question in 2010, and they wed in May 2011 in a small ceremony at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif. The bride wore Vera Wang, the groom wore Gucci, and they both looked amazing. Since their wedding, the couple splits their time between Followill's home in Nashville, Tenn., where they live on 100 acres, and New York, where Aldridge was living when they met. And, you know, sometimes they go to London when a certain fashion show is happening.

The latest chapter in their love story? Dixie Pearl Followill, who was born on June 21, 2012 in Nashville. And in case you've never seen her, she's absolutely beautiful. And considering the way she already knows how to work a paparazzi camera, there's a good chance she'll grow up to wear her mom's angel wings.
