Tris & Four Are the PCAs' Favorite Movie Duo

by Rachel Paige

This year's race for Favorite Movie Duo at the People's Choice Awards was a tough one, considering the category included basically all of our favorite romances in our favorite movies from this past year (plus, whatever was going on between Captain America and Black Widow in The Winter Solider). But obviously, we all kinda knew that the award for Favorite Movie Duo would go to Shailene Woodley and Theo James for Divergent. I mean, did you even SEE the chemistry between them in the movie?

It most certainly doesn't hurt that Woodley is one of the hottest young actresses around right now, and including her turn as the magnificent Hazel Grace Lancaster in The Fault In Our Stars, 2014 was a terrific year for her. And considering we're all counting down the days until the second installment of the Divergent trilogy, Insurgent, drops into theaters, 2015 shouldn't be that shabby either, eh?

And let's talk about James for a second. Gone are the days when I'd only think of him as that guy Lady Mary maaaaybe killed on Downton Abbey that one time. He is clearly bred for leading man material, and his turn in Divergent proves that. He's also got a million upcoming movies (OK, a million really means seven, and two of them are the last part of the Divergent series, Allegiant Part 1 & 2, but still), and just like Shailene, he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Sadly, this award wasn't presented during the telecast of the People's Choice Awards, so instead we can just imagine the two of them up on stage, smiling at each other and out at the crowd, thanking their friends, fans, and loved ones. I hope Shailene also would've thanked Ansel Elgort, as the two of them were also nominated for Favorite Movie Duo for TFIOS. Even though Woodley and James beat out that heartbreaking relationship and the beautiful bromance of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in 22 Jump Street to snag this award, it is very well deserved.
