8 Giambattista Valli Dresses That Belong On Lena

by Rosie Narasaki

Okay, Lena may have made a couple worst-dressed lists this year with the ultra-fluffy pink Giambattista Valli dress she wore to the Emmys, but I unapologetically loved it — in part because I correctly predicted it based off of her cryptic tweet-clue about a dress that "looks like cake and feels like sweatpants," but mostly because I just admired the fabulosity and chutzpah/gumption of the whole thing (plus, I loved her over-the-top Warholian makeup). All that's to say, I want Lena to wear even more of the designer, so she can continue to blow us all away with her superlatively bold fashion bravery.

Also, while I mostly stood alone on my pro-pink ombré ruffled Giambattista Valli stance, most people actually really liked it when she wore the brand to the 2014 Met Ball — so there's lots of room for fruitful collaboration between her and the couturier (besides, it's sure to beat her in poorly tailored Zac Posen, even if he is an old family friend). I mean, there was just so much fluffy fabness going on at the Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 Couture show, Lena has to wear some of it — and here are my top picks:

1. This Floral, Feathered Dress

Met Gala 2k15, anyone?

2. This High-Contrast Look

It's like a modern day-Grace Kelly-in-Rear Window explosion.

3. This Ultra-short and Ultra-sparkly Cocktail Number

Ooh, wear it with the veil, Lena.

4. This LBD/Pants Combo

Quirky gorgeousness... Though maybe it would be best sans pants (insert Lena Dunham/pantsless pun here).

5. This 3D Flowered LWD

Totally Lena's style M.O., no?

6. and 7. Either of These Intricately Detailed Dresses

Those arm ruffles! That neck ruffle! Those lacy sleeves! That voluminous skirt!

8. This Absolutely Crazy-pants Tulle Confection

AHHH!
