'The Blacklist's Elizabeth Keen IRL

by Allyson Koerner

Are you ready for some football?!?! No? OK. Let me rephrase. Are you ready for some of The Blacklist?!?! Super Bowl 49 might be on Sunday, Feb. 1, but for us TV lovers that means a scripted series will air immediately after and this year's lucky winner is The Blacklist starring Megan Boone and James Spader, among some other well-known faces. What makes the episode even more thrilling is that Sons of Anarchy actor Ron Perlman is coming on as the villain! So, what better way to get in the spirit of the drama's return (which has been on hiatus since November) and a football lover's day than by focusing on its leading lady?

For those who don't know, Boone plays FBI Agent Elizabeth Keen, who is repeatedly encountering a lot of criminals, all while trying to figure out her own life's mysteries, including who really is her former husband and is Raymond "Red" Reddington (Spader) her father? As interesting as Lizzie is, so is the actress who plays her. That means we should probably get to know more about Boone, right?

With that said, here's what we know about Elizabeth Keene IRL. FYI, she's pretty darn cool and, yeah, you'll probably want to be friends with her once you're done reading this.

She Once Broke The Internet With Diane Keaton

Kim Kardashian isn't the only one who can "break the Internet." Boone tried to do just that with her "dream co-star" Diane Keaton. Yes, her fans and followers helped her out by using the hashtag "#breaktheinternetDIANEKEATON" and sharing photos.

She Grew Up In A Retirement Village

This is not a joke. Boone grew up in a Florida retirement village. As she told Jimmy Fallon, she lived her life backwards. If you were wondering, yes, she's really good at shuffleboard.

She's Friends With Pee-wee Herman

Not only did Pee-wee Herman, aka Paul Reubens, guest star on The Blacklist, but Boone also made friends with him. As she told Capitol File magazine, "I know! I love Paul. We’re friends now! We e-mail, and we talked on the phone for 20 minutes the other day."

She's Known For Her Hair As Much As She Is Her Acting

Throughout the first season of The Blacklist, all anyone could talk about was how fake Boone's hair looked. Yes, she did wear a wig, which is now gone this season, because she grew out her hair. More likely than not, she gets asked about her hair than any other actor. Guess what? She was proud of her wig. She told Today, "British actors wear wigs a lot. I find it to be a nice ritual at the end of the day, take the wig off, clean the makeup off, go home, leave work behind me."

I'm sure the rest of Season 2 will reveal even more cool facts about the actress. Here's hoping!
