Get to Know a Little More About Rapper Meek Mill

by Caitlyn Callegari

If you have questions about Nicki Minaj's romantic life, look no further than her own Instagram for the answers. Minaj posted an adorable picture of herself and rapper Meek Mill, her previously-rumored boyfriend, embracing as he offers up a big ol' smooch on her on the cheek. In terms of lovey dovey Insta pics, this one takes the cake for most tolerable. In fact, it's swoon-worthy, especially when you note the significant height difference between the two rappers as he has to really crane his neck to get to her level. It's reassuring to know that Minaj won't be lonely this Valentine's day (like the rest of us) since she and Mill seem to clearly be together and proud of their connection. Hey, maybe we'll even get more musical collaborations out of this. Oh, the possibilities!

But, enough about the incredibly famous Minaj. She's as impressive as she is successful, but we already know so much about her. Let's focus on Mill instead, an equally talented musician with a bit less exposure than his girlfriend. It’s all a matter of time, though. Here’s some more insight into who Meek Mill is, because he’s more than just Minaj’s new man.

Though that isn’t a bad title to have.

He has released eight mix tapes and two albums since 2008

Talk about being prolific. Here's a timeline of his work:

2008 - Flamers

2009 - Flamers 2: Hottest In Tha City

2009 - Flamers 2.5: The Preview

2010 - Flamers 3: The Wait Is Over

2010 - Mr. Philadelphia

2011 - DreamChasers

2012 - DreamChasers 2

2012 - Dreams and Nightmares (Album)

2013 - DreamChasers 3

2015- Dreams Worth More Than Money (Album)

And that's not counting his four compilation albums: Nothing But Flamerz, Self Made Vol.1, Self Made Vol. 2, and Self Made Vol. 3. His fifth compilation album, Self Made Vol. 4 is set to be released in 2015.

His name isn't really "Meek"

Meek Mill's name is actually Robert Rahmeek Williams and he's only 27 years old. According to Noisey, the rapper didn't come up with his own stage name,

He took his rap name at the age of 16, inspired by a now-dead friend. His middle name is Rahmeek, and his friend proclaimed him Meek Millions. Despite a trickle of income from dealing, the young Meek was often penniless. "Meek Millions used to be my rap name, but I was like, 'I ain’t got no millions of dollars.'"

He's into fashion as well as music

The rapper has his own sneaker collection with Puma. It's called the Dreamchasers Collection, which shares the same name as three of his mix tapes.

Complex thinks he's "the best rapper out now"

Quite an honor when you consider just how many talented people he had to conquer to claim that title. The site makes mentions of two of his newer songs as proof: "F--k You Mean" and "B-Boy."
