Oh, Gwen, Stop Being So Modest
I'm prone to hyperventilate whenever there's news of a Gwen Stefani exclusive on the horizon, but her newest sit-down has me more than merely out of breath. I'm actually a bit befuddled. You see, Cosmopolitan just interviewed Gwen Stefani and she said a whole bunch of crazy things that are bound to make you go, "Gwen, NO!" Like, for instance, the fact that she said, "I'm shocked that people still care about me."
What the WHAT, Gwen?! Of course we still care! That's not the only wacky thing she said though. Girl was hell-bent on sprinkling little endearing notes of modesty throughout the chat, and I'm not too sure why. She's Gwen Freakin' Stefani for crying out loud.
She spoke of her initial, long ago feelings of inadequacy in relation to someone as handsome as her husband, Gavin Rossdale, saying,
I never really saw myself landing a guy that hot. I don't know if I was a nerd in high school, but I definitely wasn't the super-cute cheerleader so I never saw myself getting somebody like that. But I do think he's quite handsome. It's not the most important thing about him, but it is nice... and he makes really cute babies!
And, how she's still unsure of her career despite her prolific success,
It still shocks me that people care about me. I trip out about it all the time. It's mind-blowing! For me, I've never gotten to a point where I felt, "Okay, I've made it, I'm number one!"
Well Gwen, while I can safely say you've made me love you even more with all of your humble assertions, I'm also here to say that they're totally unnecessary. Here are all the reasons why the No Doubt front woman should be loud and proud about how awesome she is:
