The designer and wife of actor Tobey Maguire has adopted a simple, cute, and goes-with-anything aesthetic for her (mostly gold) pieces. Chances are you've seen Meyer's items without even knowing it. Now, longtime pals and young moms Jennifer Meyer and Jessica Alba have partnered to create a pair of heart necklaces. Yes, the Jennifer Meyer xo Jessica Alba pieces are lovely, but this is not a vanity project for celebs with time on their hands. More importantly, this is jewelry for a very specific cause.
Net proceeds from the sales of the necklaces will be benefit (RED), so purchasing and wearing one of these pieces will make you feel as good as you look! The 8k gold necklace sells for the actually affordable price of $280, while the 18k gold heart with rubies sells for just under a grand at $980.
Here's how it breaks down and how. The donations can provide either nine or 27 months worth of medication to pregnant women in Africa who are HIV-positive via The Global Fund. The medicine will actually help prevent the transfer of HIV from mother to child.

Alba noted that they chose a heart design for obvious reasons, telling WWD, "We realized that hearts were a perfect metaphor for this project… it's an easy, elegant design that women can keep close to their hearts."
The actress also commented that helping women and children is a priority for her, which we already know from her mega successful lifestyle brand, The Honest Company, which produces natural cleaning supplies and more.
Meyer pointed out to WWD that they both want to help their fellow mothers of the world, saying, "Imagine that feeling of transferring something to your child. It’s the worst thing in the world, and there are ways to prevent it.”
