Xtina's "Dirrty" Video Is Worth A Revisit ASAP

by Alex Kritselis

When I found out Ed Sheeran covered Christina Aguilera's "Dirrty" for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge on Tuesday, my heart exploded and my soul briefly left my body — honestly, I thought I was a goner. Thankfully, the power of the adorable British singer-songwriter's brilliant cover was able to bring me back to life. I just can't get enough of Sheeran's gorgeous voice, and "Dirrty" is without a doubt my favorite Aguilera song of all time. THAT'S RIGHT, PEOPLE, I SAID "OF ALL TIME." "Genie In a Bottle"? More like "Rat In a Trash Can." "Come On Over"? Nah, I'm good. "Beautiful"? Ha! Try "Agonizing." Those three "classic" Xtina tracks are pieces of rotting musical garbage in comparison to the flawless masterpiece that is "Dirrty."

(I'm kinda kidding around... but only kinda.)

"Dirrty," which was released all the way back in 2002, appeared on roughly 5,000 percent of the mixed CDs I made in high school, and for a time, my number-one goal in life was to attend a sweaty abandoned factory rave just like the one in the music video. Speaking of which: OH MY GOSH THE MUSIC VIDEO. I hadn't seen it in years, and the arrival of Sheeran's cover was the perfect excuse to watch it again. In case you've forgotten: it's quite a wild ride.

Let's take a look back at the 13 "dirrtiest" moments from Aguilera's "Dirrty" music video:
