Lupita Nyong'o's Oscars Dress Was Stolen

by May Sofi

Lupita Nyong'o is always one to watch on the red carpet, especially during awards season. Known for donning one-of-a-kind, extremely high-end designs, she never fails to look like Hollywood royalty in whatever she wears. After debuting a stunning ensemble at last week's Academy Awards, Lupita Nyong'o's Calvin Klein Oscars gown was stolen from her hotel room on Tuesday. Say it ain't so!

The dress is literally a masterpiece, composed of 6,000 hand-crafted pearls pieced together to create perfection. Not only is the dressed valued at a hefty $150,000, but it was on loan from the designer so it technically belongs to CK — Yikes. According to the Daily News the actress was with a large posse including her glam squad of makeup artists and stylists, as well as personal friends — all of which had access to her West Hollywood hotel room, which makes things real awkward.

TMZ reports that Lupita told cops the dress was taken while she out of the hotel, sometime between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM on Tuesday February 24th. The police are currently reviewing security tapes to try and solve this mystery. I am the only one suddenly having flashbacks to the Bling Ring? Is this Hollywood heist, part two?
