11 People You’ll Meet in College as Told by 'GG'

by Kelsie Gibson

College, or as some people call it the best four years of your life. I don’t know about all of that, but I can definitely attest that college is a time of growing and learning. It’s a time of firsts and never agains. It’s a time for expanding your horizons and finding new interests. It’s a time of managing your time, but having fun while doing it. It’s a time of figuring out what you want to do the rest of your life (a daunting task, but trust me very few actually figure it out by their senior year). And, most importantly — and as so perfectly demonstrated by Gossip Girl — it's also a time to meet people.

It's true: As you do all of these interesting things throughout college, you’re likely to run into some equally interesting characters along the way. Your college campus is a big place, much bigger than high school. There are so many different types of people out there. Some may become your best friends for life and some may amount to that person you sat next to in Biology class. Either way, college is the place to meet new people and make new connections.

So, let the world of Gossip Girl be your guide as a brief synopsis of who exactly you might run into.

The Arrogant Frat Guy: Chuck Bass

He wears way too much pastel and he walks around like the world revolves around him.

The Intellectual Writer: Dan Humphrey

They're your stereotypical English major, always carrying around a laptop just in case they get inspired to write.

The Charmer: Nate Archibald

He's got the good guy front down, but be careful, he's got some secrets too.

The Exchange Student: Louis Grimaldi

He's super attractive already, but add an accent and wow!

The Struggling Actress: Lola Rhodes

She's been in every school production since first year and she plans on moving to LA when she graduates to "make it big."

The Activist: Vanessa Abrams

They're an anti conformist and march to the beat of their own drum. They stands for change and are always pushing their friends to be better people, no matter how annoying it might be.

The Manipulator: Georgina Sparks

They're addicted to gossip and drama and triumph in other people's sorrow. Watch out for them, they are not to be messed with.

The Girl You Love to Hate: Serena van der Woodsen

Everything goes her way and it's kinda sickening. But you still find yourself copying her style because she's the "it" girl of college.

The Overachiever: Blair Waldorf

They may be conniving at times, but they knows how to get what they want. And you have to admire them for that.

The Frenemy: Jenny Humphrey

They may act all sweet and innocent, but they'll stab you in the back the first chance they get.
