Sunday is International Women's Day and a lot of Hollywood is celebrating on social media. Amongst them is Kourtney Kardashian, who posted a feminist picture to Instagram along with a really inspiring caption. The picture is of a quote that reads, "Here's to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them." It's one of my favorite feminist quotes and so it was great to see Kardashian spreading the positive message to her millions of followers. But even better than the quote itself was the thoughtful caption she added to the photo.

I am surrounded by strong women every day. I am so inspired by my strong, smart sisters, mother and grandmother all day long. Most importantly, teach your children (girls and boys) about what today means and lead by example. ‪#‎internationalwomensday‬ ‪#‎teachyourboys‬

The Kardashians get a lot of flack for being "stupid" or "self-centered," and the like, but it's times like these that I'm proud to be a fan of the reality show stars. Kourtney, her sisters, and her mother are the very definition of strong women. They're extremely successful businesswomen who are chasing their goals and unafraid to back down even when the press writes nasty things about them.

I actually draw a lot of inspiration from the ladies of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, and you should too. Here are 16 important lessons they've taught us that every one needs to keep in mind.

Stand Up for Yourself

If someone in your life isn't healthy for you, it's totally OK to tell them so, or to stop being around them. Taking care of yourself and your mental/physical health is super important.

Your Worth Is Not Determined By Your Size

You are so much more than how much you weigh.

Be Unashamed of Who You Are

You don't owe anyone an explanation for who you are.

And Be Yourself

It's exhausting to pretend to be someone else, and who you are is more than good enough.

Rise Above the Drama

Usually the person you're mad at doesn't deserve your attention—whether negative or positive—anyway.

Family Comes First

Although they might have arguments at times, in general the Kardashian clan is really close. They're a great example of how a family should be there for each other, no matter what.

Take Charge of Your Life

I wouldn't always advocate that you follow Kim Kardashian's rules of life, but this one is pretty important. Sure, you can wait around for life to hand you your future, or you can go make your own luck in life. In my experience, it's the go-getters that are the happiest.

Body Shaming Is Never OK

Preach it, Khloe.

Everyone Has Value

We're all unique and awesome in our own ways.

Chase Your Dreams

Kendall Jenner pursued her modeling career even when she was being mercilessly mocked by fellow Fashion Week models. Get it, girl.

Keep Your Chin Up

Sometimes boys suck, but things will get better.

Remember the Golden Rule

So important.

Live It Up While You Can

#YOLO.

Life Is About Balance

This advice works for everything from your relationship to trying to keep yourself balanced in work or in life in general.

Love Yourself

You should always be your own cheerleader in life. You're great and you should be proud of who you are.

You Don't Always Have to Choose

Yep, women can have it all. Now stop asking us that stupid question and let us get back to being awesome.
