Bruce's Docu-Series Not Going Forward — For Now

It looks like one anticipated and talked about E! reality show is not moving forward — for now, that is. According to TMZ, Bruce Jenner's docu-series is on hold for several reasons that are nothing but understandable and respectable. Jenner reportedly put a stop to all production for his series, which will reportedly document Jenner's transgender "journey," due to several concerns.

First, TMZ reports that Jenner is worried about the psychological effect it might have on his children, especially his three sons, Brody, Burt, and Brandon Jenner. He reportedly wants to ensure that these three are "in a good place" to handle the docu-series and his alleged transition.

Second, the car accident Jenner was involved in is also seemingly taking a toll on the Olympian. Apparently, he wants to take all the time needed to cope and deal with the emotional impact. Seeing as the scary car crash left one woman dead, there's no doubt that would have an affect on Jenner, and everyone else involved or impacted by the fatal accident.

About one month ago, Jenner released the following statement after the crash:

My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.

A source told TMZ, "There's a 99.9 percent chance the docu-series will happen," but it will no longer debut in May. With that said, it appears Jenner's reported interview with Diane Sawyer is still on schedule.

Some might be disappointed that they have to wait for Jenner's docu-series, but it's difficult to find any fault in his alleged reasons for putting it on hold. If this is true, how can you not respect him for wanting to be there for his family and also for himself?

Editors Note: Until/unless Jenner has personally confirmed the transgender rumors and the intention to begin presenting as a woman, Bustle will continue to refer to the track star as a man and father, using male pronouns. Jenner deserves the courtesy of being able to “tell his story his way” when ready, as step-daughter Kim said, and Bustle will only make those changes if/when Jenner confirms.
