Why We Need More 'Eye Candy' In Our Lives

by Kelly Schremph

There is no denying that MTV's cyber thriller series Eye Candy has hacked its way into fans' hearts and reminded us of just how scary a place the Internet can be. And now that Season 1 is coming to a close, one can't help but look to the future and wonder if a Season 2 renewal is in Eye Candy 's future. Because if it isn't, I'm here to say that it should be. This isn't so much of a request as it is an outright demand. Amid all the other creepy, stalker-type shows out there, Eye Candy is by far the best of the lot and constantly leaves you on the edge of your seat. (Seriously, it's to the point where every single episode feels like the season finale.)

I mean, it's bad enough that viewers were only allotted a whopping 10 episodes throughout the show's freshman season, but to have it ripped from us entirely would be just plain cruel. So if wanting to see that story continue is wrong, then I don't want to be right. But then I thought, perhaps all MTV is waiting for is a little incentive, which is why I've taken the liberty of compiling a list of reasons for why a second season of Eye Candy needs to happen ASAP.

The Characters Are Fantastic

Lindy, Tommy, George, Sophia — I love them all and am dying to learn more about what makes them tick. But in order to do that, we need more episodes. (Please?) Ugh, even the thought of having to say goodbye to these memorable characters is too much to bear. We need more George happy dances in our lives, people!

Tindy Still Needs To Become a Thing

Yes, they shared a super steamy kiss a few weeks back, but that was more cloaked in necessity rather than actually admitting their feelings for each other. Viewers need to be able to see how this relationship plays out in the long haul. I mean, if this is the appetizer, I can't wait to get to the main course.

The Curious Case of Sara

How can the writers possibly clear this entire mystery up in just one episode? (That was a trick question because they totally can't.) And if Sara does end up being dead in that box, I'm going to be very disappointed. Lindy's entire search can't just be for nothing. There's more to this story than meets the eye and I demand to know what it is.

The Crime-Solving Hijinks Are On Fleek

Plus, it takes a certain kind of talent to bring a level of humor to such a dark topic, but somehow this series manages to do so with flying colors. More please!

Babylon Questions Still Need To Be Answered

Who created it? What were they hoping to accomplish? And now that it's gone, what will they do to exact their revenge? (Because you know it's only a matter of time.)

It Makes Mondays a Little More Bearable

And if that isn't a good enough incentive, then I don't know what is.
