Robin Williams' Kids Head To Court Over His Estate

As if things weren't hard enough for Robin Williams' children, they're now fighting with his wife over his estate. On Monday, Robin Williams' family is headed to court to discuss his will because it seems they can't agree on how it should be carried out. His three children Zachary, Zelda, and Cody, are fighting with their step-mother Susan Schneider over who gets what.

According to court documents filed in December 2014, Schneider believes that all the items within her home should stay there, and has alleged that some things are already missing. His children, meanwhile, contend that they are to be given "his memorabilia and industry awards" including those in the home he shared with Schneider. She says they should only get items from his Napa, California home.

The New York Times reports that his three children said in their court filings they are "heartbroken" and feel that Schneider has “acted against his wishes by challenging the plans he so carefully made for his estate.” She insists she's only heading to court to clarify some terms made in the will.

It's a really sad end to an even sadder story. It's unfortunate to hear that the family can't agree on who should get what. Frankly, it's just extending the pain that his children and wife are no doubt experiencing. During such a tumultuous time as this, I wish Robin Williams' family could come together rather than arguing.

But, hopefully, the court case will resolve quickly so both parties can get back to their lives. They need to be able to put this tragic chapter behind them and start the process of moving on.
