Dakota Wore Grey To Premiere 'Effie Gray'

by Sienna Fantozzi

The color gray has seen a major upturn in popularity this year for such a neutral and bland color. Dakota Fanning attended the Effie Gray premiere on Monday night, and, taking a cue from her character's name, wore a gray dress. But it's actually really chic and so perfect for spring, so all cheesiness is forgiven.

The 21-year-old actress, who plays a Victorian lady in the new film, walked the carpet at the New York city premiere wearing a floor-length, spaghetti strap Wes Gordon gown. The pale gray gown, made from crepe material, was slinky enough to contour her curves, while still retaining a hint of loose, fluidity for that effortless glamour. Since the monochromatic dress was so minimalistic, Fanning jazzed things up a bit with several Tiffany & Co. diamond bangles, though kept her makeup fresh and light, with her blonde hair straight and in a side part. Dakota looked incredibly grown up for her young age, radiating a timeless, classic sophistication, while at the same time still looking young and modern.

The overall look was simple, but Fanning isn't generally one for all the bells and whistles, anyway, and given that the 90s are making a comeback, apparently, the slip dress silhouette was definitely on trend.
