'Dance Moms' Top 8 Most Beautiful Routines

by Caitlin Flynn

Abby Lee Miller is a busy woman who has recently been spotted giving strange acceptance speeches at the Kids Choice Awards and bickering with her students' parents on Dance Moms. But when she's in her studio, Miller is a talented choreographer with the uncanny ability to seamlessly transition from screaming at her students to putting together winning routines. Many of her teaching methods are controversial, but Miller knows how to train strong competitors who can successfully perform routines across all types of dance, from lyrical to acrobatic to tap. She has a group of talented and driven young dancers who pick up new choreography in minutes and bring powerful emotions to life on stage. That's why Dance Moms features so many beautiful dance routines.

Their moms may be constantly squabbling with one another, but Abby's dancers are way too focused on their training to have drama among themselves. We all have our favorite dancers (#TeamChloe forever!) and part of the fun is watching them succeed and be rewarded for their hard work and dedication. They are true professionals on stage, gracefully handling everything from wardrobe malfunctions to music stopping mid-routine. I don't hate watching the mama drama and Cathy versus Abby showdowns, but the dancing will always be the highlight of Dance Moms.

Let's take a look back at the most beautiful routines from the ALDC.

Maddie's Solo "Cry" (Season 1, Episode 2)

Maddie has been destined for stardom since the very beginning and it's evident in this solo. The #MaddieFace was in full effect, along with top-notch extensions, leaps, and turns.

Chloe & Maddie's Duet "Black Swan" (Season 1, Episode 11)

Chloe and Maddie won first place at Nationals for this lyrical ballet duet inspired by the film Black Swan. What's even more impressive: Chloe delivered this amazing performance just minutes after a disappointing solo routine.

Group Dance "Twilight" (Season 2, Episode 20)

Abby doesn't use her male dancers often, but their addition made for a huge success in this routine. Brooke, Chloe, and Maddie were given the opportunity to perform a more mature piece with partner work and they rose to the occasion.

Chloe's Solo "Silence" (Season 2, Episode 26)

Chloe's first place performance at Nationals was flawless and passionate. Seeing the perpetually under-appreciated dancer finally get the recognition she deserved is one of the best moments of the series.

Brooke's Solo "The Diary of Anne Frank" (Season 2, Episode 26)

It's a given that no one can execute acrobatic tricks as well as Brooke, who dreams of performing for Cirque du Soleil. In this solo, she delivered non-stop acro tricks and still managed to convey the emotion of her subject matter. Brooke won the Teen Miss Energy title for this performance.

Group Dance "Rosa Parks" (Season 3, Episode 12)

Nia shined with her portrayal of Rosa Parks and led the group to a first place win.

Chloe & Paige's Solo "Wishbone" (Season 4, Episode 7)

Chloe and Paige were the sweetest BFFs on Dance Moms and it showed in this duet. It would end up being their last time onstage together before the Hylands left the show.

Kendall's Solo "Welcome to a New World" (Season 5, Episode 6)

Kendall excelled in her Bollywood routine. Her music stopped, but she danced on without missing a beat like a true professional. "I got this, judges, you better give me a perfect score," Kendall asserted. They didn't, but they should have.
