Christie Brinkley Gets A Black Eye

Oh goodness, Christie. The supermodel and beauty icon was vacationing in Turks and Caicos when she apparently had a run in with the local bird, leaving Christie Brinkley with a black eye.

Yes, you read that correctly. Apparently, Brinkley was trying to save a bird and wound up having to take a trip to the hospital for scans and stitches. We aren't sure how exactly this happened (did the bird attack?!), but either way we are glad everything is fine. Since the Easter accident, she's been uploading gorgeous beach pictures so we can only assume the vacation is back on track. According to People, Brinkley is vacationing with her 29-year-old daughter Alexa Ray Joel in Parrot Cay.

"We interrupt this holiday to take a little unplanned excursion to Miami for cat scans and stitches following an accident trying to save a bird. My grateful heartfelt thanks go out to our wonderful Parrot Cay Family who got me to the boat and plane, and my friends in Miami who found my A Team at University of Miami Hospital led by Dr. Askari and his professional, caring, and adorable team," she said in her post.

Black eye and all, she still looks damn good. Maybe just stick to (safe!) sunbathing in lieu of wild animal rescue missions, mmkay?
