The Kardashians Aren't Allowed To Park In L.A.

The Kardashian family is not welcome in Hollywood, especially when it comes to parking their expensive cars. OK, not really, but one artist is trying to make a point about the E! family. Artist Plastic Jesus created "No Kardashian Parking Anytime" signs (seven, to be exact) and bolted them to existing parking regulation poles around the Los Angeles area. He isn't just trying to be funny or take credit for making the greatest parking restriction ever, but Plastic Jesus is trying to make a point — that the Kardashians are not news and our society needs to focus on more important matters.

Plastic Jesus, who is known for that cocaine-snorting Oscar statue and the "Stop Making Stupid People Famous" campaign, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and said,

The Kardashian family has become ingrained in our culture. We've allowed mainstream media to become so profit-driven, we are sacrificing genuine news stories to satiate our vapid celebrity obsessions.

He added that consumers are just making the problem worse. "But that piece is also meant to criticize us as consumers," Plastic Jesus explained. "Without us, there would be no market for the Kardashians. We are equally, if not more so, to blame."

Ironically, Plastic Jesus' artwork has become news, which means, the Kardashians are once again making headlines. Was that his intent? Most likely not, but maybe the signs will really get people thinking about the important things in life, rather than the drama on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

THR also spoke with a LAPD spokesperson who said there have been no complaints about the signs, but that they are still considered vandalism.
