Kate Bosworth Turned Heads With Her Coral Lipstick

by Jamie Cuccinelli

Take your summer lipstick cues from California dream queen Kate Bosworth's bright coral lipstick, which she sported at a recent event. There are some shades of the color wheel that are versatile enough to take you through all 365 days of the year. They go with your spring sundress and fall trench coat, and enhance your features, whether they're bathed in the summer sun or flaked with winter snow. Meanwhile, there are other makeup colors that only work during certain times of the year, and coral a la Kate Bosworth's latest lip look is definitely one of them.

At the 2015 Crackle Upfront event in New York City earlier this week, Bosworth left a summery streak on the red carpet thanks to her dazzling coral lipstick — aka the ultimate warm-weather shade. According to InStyle, the actress's specific shade is called Swagger 700. It comes from the CK One All Day Perfection Lip Color lipsticks range and hits Ulta shelves in July, but you can definitely snag Bosworth's makeup look long before then with the dozens of fabulous coral shades already on the market.

The look-at-me shade can be a tad intimidating to those winter goddesses who are used to dark plum or neutral lips.

But since summer is the time to try new things, why not test the chlorinated waters with a healthy dose of coral? It's equal parts bold and feminine, providing a comfortable middle ground between boring pink and crazy orange. The temperatures are rising, so it's time to heat up your beauty game.

Coral Lips

The brighter the lipstick, the more obvious your dry, winter lips are. Transition your pucker with a coral shade that also packs some serious moisture. Tarte's Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Salmon Pink offers lush coral color, plus creamy cupuacu and murumuru butters.

Coral Eyes

When paired with a summery glow, coral totally pops on your peepers. Sweep Makeup Forever's Coral Pink Artist Shadow on your lids, or keep things a little lighter by dipping a damp angled brush into the shadow to use it as an eyeliner.

Coral Cheeks

Coral is a pretty universally flattering shade of blush, thanks to its components of classic pink flush and bronze glow, and Benefit's CORALista blush warms up your complexion just as much as a tropical vacay would.

Coral Nails

Transform into a summer goddess from the top of your head, down to the tips of your toes by coating your nails with a lustrous coral shade of polish, like Deborah Lippmann's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.
