Jo Malone London just announced that British socialite and model Poppy Delevingne is the first Jo Malone London Girl, becoming the brand's first global representative. Delevingne will work with the Jo Malone brand on several not-yet-announced projects, in addition to hosting events for the brand, and helping to popularize its products around the world.
The partnership between Delevingne and Jo Malone seems like a very natural one, with both parties being beautiful, British, and totally sophisticated. Not to mention that Delevingne was already an avid fan of the brand before being approached to be its global ambassador.
"I've been wearing Red Roses since I was 22. The first thing that drew me to my husband James was his scent, and when I asked him what it was he said, Amber & Lavender by Jo Malone London," Delevingne reported to WWD. "My home is overflowing with Jo Malone London candles and I scented my wedding with Orange Blossom, which still gives me butterflies. Jo Malone London is woven into the fabric of my life and I couldn't be happier to be working with a brand I love so much."
According to Jo Malone London's global general manager Jean-Guillaume Trottier, the admiration is mutual. Of Delevigne he said that her "personality is infectious, she is a joy to be around and brings a sense of celebration to everything she does."
It will be interesting to see what Delevingne's unannounced projects will be. Is it possible that she will work with the Jo Malone team to come up with a special fragrance or line of products? Or perhaps she will remain more of a figurehead, using her celebrity status to represent the brand at events and in interviews? Regardless, it looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of Cara Delevingne's older sis.
