Shailene, Bingbing, & Olivia All Matched This Week
The world of red carpets has startlingly few repeats — but when a really lovely dress floats down the red carpet, maybe just a tad under the radar, it might get worn one (or two!) more times. Such is the case with this supremely gorgeous star Valentino dress, worn most recently by Olivia Palermo at the 2015 American Museum Of Natural History Museum Dance — it's also been worn by Fan Bingbing at the opening of a new Valentino store in Hong Kong, as well as by Shailene Woodley, who wore it to the 18th Annual Hollywood Film Awards (where just so happened to pick up a trophy for breakout actress).
The dress itself is pretty much perfection itself — so it's not exactly hard to see why so many stars have worn it to such an array of events. Valentino knows their way around a beautiful dress, and this star-spangled number's no exception: It's an understated nude shade, with an ethereally floaty skirt made princess-like with matching sheer cap sleeves — its sparkling mismatched stars keep things fresh, and a plunging neckline keeps things edgy. All three actresses had a slightly different spin on the styling, so let's look at them all and see who wore it best!
Olivia Palermo
Olivia kept things boho by wearing her ombré hair loose and wavy, and she played up the stars on the dress by pairing it with a metallic clutch and a single, simple bangle.
Shailene Woodley
Shailene had an even more pared-down styling approach for the gown: She kept things super simple with slicked back hair and an understated pendent that let the dress be the star of the show.
Fan Bingbing
Bingbing also kept things simple with minimal accessories, and some classic side-swept hair. It's worth noting that she was the only one who wore the dress with its original matching belt, and she added in a panel to modify the v-neck.
What do you think? If not for the strange neckline, I'd go with Bingbing's classic styling, but as things stand, I'd have to vote for Olivia's princess-y boho take on the look!
