Where Did Ian Somerhalder & Nikki Reed's Wedding Take Place? They Couldn't Have Chosen A More Perfect Spot

I'm finding it pretty hard to keep on top of the whirlwind that is Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's relationship. One minute they're dating, the next minute they're engaged, and then, all of a sudden, Somerhalder and Reed have gotten married. No, really, they have. The two were wed on Sunday in a private ceremony, and the pictures are only just starting to hit the Internet. Although their secret wedding wasn't a secret for as long as some couples have kept theirs (looking at you, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt), people are still eager for details about the pair's nuptials. So where did Reed and Somerhalder get married while we were all watching TV and trying to avoid thinking of the long work week ahead of us?

The actors behind two separate fictional vampires were married in Santa Monica, California. The ceremony took place up in the mountains, which is a fitting location for an active couple who loves hiking, traveling, dogs, and horses. After all, on the Friday before the wedding, Somerhalder posted a picture of himself and Reed taking a hike together, although we didn't know what the caption "getting ready for the day... setting intentions. Wow. Life" meant until now.

Sneaky, sneaky Somerhalder. In light of the fact that he is now a married man, it looks as though this picture was taken in Santa Monica in advance of the ceremony. How they managed to keep things a secret while they were taking pictures is beyond me, but the sheer number of secret celebrity weddings that have taken place in the last year makes it clear that the iPhone generation isn't as on top of celeb gossip as they used to be.

Either way, getting married in the mountains of Santa Monica while the sun was setting seemed like a beautiful backdrop for an even more beautiful day if the photos are anything to go by. I mean, seriously, look how happy they are. Nothing warms the heart quite like a Cullen and a Salvatore finding love together, uniting their two covens into one, majestic vampire family that we all kind of wish we could join.

If Reed and Somerhalder weren't already your relationship goals, then the fact that they probably spent their honeymoon going camping in Santa Monica should change your mind.
